In this hands-on workshop, you will design and carve your own custom linocut stamps, print your motifs directly onto upcycled fabric patches for patching your clothing or using as a decoration. Anything is possible!
To ensure your designs are durable and permanent, all finished creations will stay behind at the studio after the session to fully dry and be heat set. They will be ready for you to pick up and take home later in the week!

By registering for a workshop at Atelier Galaxia, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before completing your booking.
Registration: Your spot is only confirmed once full payment is received.
Age Requirement: Participants must be at least 16 years old unless otherwise stated. Minors must be accompanied by a guardian.
We operate a strict no-refund policy. We are a small studio, and last-minute cancellations significantly impact our ability to host workshops.
Exchanges: If you cannot attend, you may transfer your registration to a friend or exchange it for a different workshop date, provided you notify us at least 48 hours before the start time.
No-Shows: Failure to attend without prior notice will result in the forfeiture of your booking fee with no option for exchange.
Studio Cancellations: In the unlikely event that Atelier Galaxia must cancel a session (e.g., instructor illness), you will be offered a full refund or a priority credit for a future class.
Sewing involves the use of sharp tools (needles, scissors, rotary cutters) and electrical equipment (sewing machines, irons).
Assumption of Risk: By participating, you acknowledge that you are using these tools at your own risk. Atelier Galaxia and its instructors are not liable for any personal injury, property damage, or loss incurred during the workshop.
Instruction: Participants must follow all safety instructions provided by the instructor. Failure to comply with safety protocols may result in being asked to leave the workshop without a refund.
We aim to foster a creative, inclusive environment. We reserve the right to remove any participant who displays disruptive, disrespectful, or unsafe behavior toward the instructor or other attendees.
From time to time, we may take photos of student projects for social media or marketing. Please notify us at the beginning of the workshop if you prefer not to be photographed.

Location: Atelier Galaxia Studio is located in the Mile End in Montreal (exact address & access information will be emailed to participants prior to the class).
It is approximately a 10 minute walk from Laurier Metro Station.
Accessibility: The Studio is located on the seventh floor and is only accessible up approximately 5 stairs at the front entrance and an elevator inside the building. Unfortunately, the building is not wheelchair accessible.
Jane Alexys is a sewist & upcycle designer based in Montreal, Quebec with over 15 years of sewing experience. She specializes in turning trash into timeless treasures with various fibre art techniques. After years in the fast-paced film and event technology industries, I founded Atelier Galaxia as a return to slower, more intentional making. Having seen the environmental toll of temporary productions, I am now dedicated to textile repair and longevity - valuing craft as a tactile act of storytelling and ritual. Read more here.
